Creative Spiritual Insights: Reframed and Renamed

Reframing a situation with new and different words is a good way to find solutions. God often changes people’s names or gives places new names in order to bring about a revolution or new outcome. Choosing titles, words, and names carefully is very important because the connotation and definition can bring success or failure.

What are some places or names that had significant purpose or meaning in the Bible?

Who were some people that underwent reframing and name changes in scripture?

What does your name mean? Are you living up to your name?

What would you like for your name to be? What do you think would better fit you at this time?

What titles and roles do you play? Do you think some are more significant than others?

How have those roles or names defined and shaped your life?

What word or phrase has meant a lot to you or seemed to define your life? What would you like to see it become?

“Your name will no longer be Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I will make you the father of many nations.” Genesis 17:5

“Your name will no longer be Jacob,” He said. “It will be Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.” Genesis 32:28

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
