Creative Spiritual Insights: Vantage Point

Questions are great. Ask them from every possible vantage point.

When you really want to understand something, you must ask tons of questions. Learning to look from every possible angle is an acquired skill. Yet anyone and everyone who is teachable can do this. Realizing that every person has a different pair of lenses through which they view the world is a valuable asset to not only teaching people but leading people.

Jesus was a master at this naturally. He dealt with people compassionately because he knew their hearts, their histories and their habitats. If we can learn to humbly walk with God and with people, we will have a greater impact for the Kingdom of God.

As you lead others, ask questions. Don’t be condescending but compassionate. Don’t inquire to insult but to understand.  Learn from everyone. Let everyone be your teacher.

How are you at learning from others?

Do you look at life from other perspectives or are you stuck in your own little world?

How can you walk a mile in someone else’s shoes today?

Jesus was the ultimate example of someone changing His vantage point:

John 1:14

14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Philippians 2:5-8

5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Luke 2:52

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
